Mangaluru: As per credible information that, illegal activities in the jail City Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar and DCPs along with several officers,conducted a raid in district jail on Friday and seized several mobiles, ganja and a few other items.

As many as 150 police officers and canine squads, Four ACPs, ten police inspectors, six police sub-inspectors and two KSRP platoons took part in the raid.

After a successful raid, the officers seized about twelve mobiles, two chargers, five mobile batteries, three SIM cards, a screwdriver and ganja weighing about ten grams.

Speaking to the media Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar said that the raid was conducted after they received information that they were weapons in the jail premises, but nothing of that sort was found. Later jail inmates were shifted to different cells.
