Mangalore: In order to work for the development of Wenlock Hospital and Lady Goschen Hospital, the Arogya Raksha Samithi has decided to sanction Rs. 1.61 crore, said DC Subodh Yadav.
He was speaking at the meeting held at his chamber on Dec 21, Tuesday. He also said that, the development of these both hospitals has sent the approved proposals to launch development projects worth Rs. 1,61,22,000 at the hospitals. In which Rs. 1,30,32,000 will be spent on developing Wenlock Hospital.
The Arogya Raksha Samithi also decided to invite tenders to supply 300 bedside lockers and 200 cots for the hospital. An endoscopy unit will also be established at the cost of Rs. 20 lakh and an audiometry machine worth Rs. 4.5 lakh will be purchased for the hospital. An operating microscope worth Rs. 7 lakh for the orthopedic department will also be purchased.
The DC has directed concerned authorities to collaborate with KMC Hospital and beautify the two hospitals.
Dr. O. R. Shrirangappa, the district health and family welfare officer, R. S. Shaha, the assistant drug controller, Dr. A. M. Shetty, the Mangalore City Corporation health officer and C. B. Navalagunda, the assistant executive engineer of PWD, were also present.
