Putturu : A skeletal remains found in a forest near Tenkila Puttur on Sunday, it is to be that of Soumya (24), a resident of Tenkila Puttur, who had been missing since September 23, 2015.
The Puttur police said that soon after Soumya went missing her brother filed a missing complaint. He followed it with a habeas corpus petition before the Karnataka High Court.
On Sunday evening, passers-by noticed a highly decomposed body hanging from the tree and informed the police. The police called Soumya’s family, who identified the body.
Sources said, She might have committed suicide. A chain and clothes reportedly belonging to Sowmya were found near the skeletal remains.
Superintendent of Police Sharanappa S.D. said they will conduct a DNA test to confirm the identity.
