Mangaluru : Those buying train tickets at passenger reservation counter located on the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangaluru will have to pay service charges from February 15.
Southern Railway has decided to collect service charges at non-rail head PRS counters. Service charges are already being collected for tickets being issued at post offices and now it is decided to extend the same to PRS counters opened at Lok Sabha Member’s premises too, said P.A. Dhananjayan, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, SR, Palakkad Division.
The service charges are in addition to reservation charges. They would be Rs. 15 for second class sleeper and second sitting, Rs. 20 for 3AC and AC chair car, Rs. 30 for 2AC and First Class and Rs. 10 for all categories of cancellation of tickets.
