Mangaluru : A 23-year-old engineering student was found hanging from a tree near Court Road here on Thursday morning. According to Mangaluru North Police, Baiju Thomas (23), a native of Kanhangad, was a second year engineering student of Srinivas School of Engineering in Mukka.

He was staying as a paying guest at a house in Bolar. On Wednesday evening, Thomas had gone for a party at his friend’s place. He returned to his place late in the night. Around 2 a.m. he left the place in his car. Around 10 a.m. people walking on the Court Road noticed his body hanging from the tree.

The police said that the deceased was a farmer’s son. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained the police said.
