Mangaluru : Search operations went on but the body was not found who reportedly jumped into the river from the Netravathi Bridge on Friday.

It is said that the youth came walking along the bridge and all of a sudden climbed over the wall of the bridge and jumped into the river. Several commuters on the bridge as well in boats witnessed the incident.

Though the boats rushed to his rescue it was too late as the youth had already drowned. Search operations went on but the body was not found till evening.

The police arrived at the spot and took control of the situation. Traffic came to a standstill following the incident.
