Mangaluru : A 51-year-old electrical contractor was hacked to death early on Monday morning in Barke police limits in Mangaluru.

Police gave the name of the deceased as Vinayaka Baliga, resident of Ballal Bagh in the city. Passers by on PVS Kalakunj Road saw Baliga’s body with multiple injuries lying in a pool of blood and informed the police.

Barke police have registered a case of murder and are investigating. DCP (Crime and Traffic) Sanjeev M. Patil and other senior officers visited the spot.
