New Delhi: Suresh Kalmadi, former CWG organizing Committee Chief came under direct watchful eyes of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today in shivering cold waves hitting Delhi. His houses in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune were raided, as also his Phoenix Mills office in Mumbai, apart from his secretary Manoj Bhure’s house in Delhi today.
Kalmadi was in his home, but he disappeared inside when pressmen spotted him. CBI has stated that he told lies to prevent searches at his premises, on CWG materials. He was in the thick of CWG muddles before and after the show held in October 2010. The shoddy preparations had hit news headlines all over the world. There of his former aides are in jail. He inflated many executory works to corner wealth, but denied any such role and protested to his innocence.
The BJP has called the raids as late. Why so much delay, it asked. Its spokesman RV Prasad has written to cabinet secretary, asking him to drop Kalmadi and Bhanot (a deputy) from CWG Committee.
