Bantwal : The Department of Mines and Geology stopped the movement of sand from B.C. Road Railway Station, in six good wagons, on Wednesday, following the failure of Railway authorities to produce documents related to the procurement of sand.
The Department’s senior geologist K.S. Nagendrappa said that as much as 120 tonnes of sand was being loaded in the wagons of the goods train. The sand was being taken to Sakleshpur.
He said that Railway officials have been asked to produce documents related to the procurement and use of sand.
