Mangaluru: Ibrahim Safwan (26) who was injured in an assault at Ullal five days ago, succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Saturday.

Safvan (24), Saleem (22) and Nizam (22), working for a catering contractor, were on their way home from Mangaluru when they were allegedly attacked near Thokkottu junction in the wee hours of Tuesday. Five miscreants on two motorcycles, allegedly waylaid and attacked the victims who were on a motorcycle. Safvan, a resident of Chembugudde, who had received deep cuts on his ribs, ran for help for about 1 km and later was admitted to a hospital in the city.

After the murder of Raju Kotian, a fisherman at Kotepura, Police have so far arrested five persons in connection with these attacks.
