Mangaluru : Leaders of GSB Community complained to Mangaluru city police commissioner M Chandrasekhar that, media reports claim, that, Vishwanath Bhat, assistant to Srimad Samyamindra Thirtha Swamji, in connection with the murder of Vinayaka Baliga an RTI activists a few weeks ago, and has been arrested, which is a false and far from truth reporting, and urged that legal action should be taken against the concerned media agencies. GSB leaders claimed that their community which is 600years has been suffering due to this false news. 

The commissioner was addressing the media persons at his office after accepting the memorandum from the leaders of the GSB community on Monday May 8.

Vishwanath Bhat is allegedly an aide of absconding Naresh Shenoy, an accused in the Vinayaka Baliga murder case. Vishwanath Bhat, who is attached to the Kashi Math, was called to the police station for the sake of questioning. But it was reported that he had been arrested in relation to the Vinayak Baliga murder case.

But it was totally mistaken by many media “ who adopted to irresponsible reporting”. Because of this, the leaders of the GSB community have expressed their concern and have sought the action against the those media who reported contrary to the fact,” commissioner said.

He appealed to all the media, that while reporting about any investigation, please verify the facts twice from the concerned officials and carry the reports,” he added.

Action will be taken after seeking legal opinion, against the media, he said.

The delay is arresting Naresh Shenoy, is because he has been changing location to other states in India but he is within India, the commissioner said that Shenoy has not fled from the country. He will be arrested soon.
