Mangaluru : The sleuths of the newly formed Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a village accountant in Vitla for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,500.
According to ACB officials, Nagaraj Bhat filed a complaint against K.R. Ranjit, the village accountant at Punacha, accusing him of demanding Rs. 6,500 for change of khata.
The sleuths visited Ranjit’s office and caught him while he was receiving the money. Ranjit was produced before a district judge, who remanded him in judicial custody for 15 days. This is the first case registered by the Dakshina Kannada unit of ACB.
