Mangaluru : An employee of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) in Hubballi drowned in the sea on Ullal beach on Friday.

According to the Ullal police, Vinod P. (41), a security officer at the KSRTC depot off Gokul Road in Hubballi, had come with his wife, mother and other family members in a car to their relative’s house in Kinya on Thursday. On Friday, Vinod and other family members came to the Ullal beach around noon.

The police said that the life guards had warned Vinod and other family members against entering the waters because of the rough nature of the sea. The police said that Vinod entered the sea near Summer Sands and he was caught in the waves. Life guards recovered his body later.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
