Mangalore : BJP State Vice President Sulochana Bhat in the press meet held at District BJP Office on Dec 28, Tuesday said that around 3659 BJP candidates contesting in the Taluk panchayath and Zilla Panchayath election and out of which 218 are BJP Women candidates.
She also said that The BJP party has given an opportunity for 198 SC /ST women candidates to contest in Taluk Panchayath election and 186 SC /ST women candidates for Zilla Panchayath election and expecting to win in majority.
Today the BJP government has given more facility for the poor people especially to women and encourages them to contest in the election and granted 50 percent reservation for women. BJP have selected able candidates for the election, she informed.
The Chief Minister Yeddyurappa’s government has implemented more schemes for women like Bhagyalakshmi and Madilu Yojana which benefits women from birth to death. The BJP Mahila morcha is working well in taluk level and the activists are visiting each home and explain the developments and price hike by the central government to the people as a part of election campaign.
BJP district president Padmanabha Kottary, Sudha Bhat and City Mahila Morcha president Pushpalatha Gatti were present.
