Mangalore: Honourable Union Minister for Law and Justice M Veerappa Moily said that there is need for good governance and constant improvement to achieve the Indian government’s goal which has been declared 2010-2020 as the ‘Decade of Innovation’.
He was speaking after receiving the ‘Outstanding Manager Award 2010’ conferred by the Mangalore Management Association (MMA) for exhibiting exemplary managerial skills held at the conference hall of SDM College of Business Management on Dec 28, Tuesday.
The award was handed over by Indian Overseas Bank Chairman and Managing Director M Narendra
He also said that the ultimate restoration can only be possible through the systematic change and not individual effort. Pointing out the necessary conditions of good governance, he said that there is need for accountability, transparency and reformation as per Human Rights Commission of United Nations.
Dr P Dayananda Pai, managing director of Century Group recipient of 2009 award was the guest of honour.
M Shekar Pujari, president of the Association, T G Shenoy, vice-president and U Rama Rao, secretary and Dr Devaraj, former President were present.
