Mangaluru : A 26-year-old Mangaluru-based model who lives is in Bengaluru was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday in connection with a drug peddling case.
On November 30, 2015, the NCB had raided a flat in a posh apartment complex in R.T. Nagar and arrested Nishan, in his early thirties. They had seized 110 grams of cocaine, 19 grams of hashish, 1.2 grams of MDMA and one LSD blot from the flat.
The apartment was in the name of the model, Darshithmita G., who was in a relationship with Nishan for a couple of years, sources said. She was not in the flat at the time of the raid.
Investigations revealed that Nishan was allegedly running a very well-oiled and organised drug peddling network in the State and Goa. He is believed to have customers in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Goa, including students, professionals and revellers, sources said.
Later, NCB sleuths arrested three associates of Nishan, all operating in Mangaluru. Darshithmita is the fifth person to be arrested in connection with the case.
Sources said the four claimed that Darshithmita was part of the racket. She was allegedly the chief conduit between Nishan and his customers, apart from handling the finances too.
An NCB press release claimed that she was carrying out drug trafficking related transactions from her back account.
Sources said that Darshithmita was summoned by NCB sleuths on Tuesday.
She was later arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
