Mysore: Mysore’s Wadiyar dynasty is hosting a royal wedding as “King” Yaduveer Wadiyar tied the knot with Rajasthani royalty Trishika Kumari Singh on Monday. The historic Mysore Palace witnessed a royal wedding for the first time 40 years.

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, 24, will marry Trishika Kumari, who is from the Royal family of Dungarpur in Rajasthan.

Over 80 royal families and a thousand dignitaries from India and Abroad have been invited for the wedding. As many as 50 traditional rituals have been planned.

The wedding ceremony is being held at the ‘Kalyana Mantapa’ of the Amba Vilas Palace.

The main tourist attraction palace will be out of bounds for the general public for six days.

Mysore kings known as Wadiyars ruled present day Southern Karnataka for over 550 years.

Yaduveer Wadiyar was adopted by Queen mother Rani Pramoda Devi Wadiyar after her husband Srikantadatta Narasihma Raja Wodeyar died three years ago. The couple have no children.
