Bangalore: The village girl who ran hurdle and relay races in Delhi (CWG) and Guang-Zhou in China (Asian Games) to win gold medals and baffle the city-bred athletes, has been selected as the “person of the year 2010” by the Bangalore Press Club for their annual award. She was recently in Mumbai, to be honoured by World Bunts’ association.
The club has also selected ‘Outlook’ editor Krishna Prasad, ‘E-Sanje’ editor T. Venkatesh, IE adviser on editorials, T.J.S George and former DD (news) Director K.S. Achuthan, all veteran journalists, for more awards of the club.
These will be presented to them by CM Yeddyurappa on the last day of the year 2010 (next Friday), at an annual New Year Eve Celebrations function at the club hall.
