Mangaluru: : Manglauru Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar inaugurated “Journalism Day” at Press Club on Friday.
Speaking at the occasion Chandra Sekhar said that it is hard to imagine our country without press which plays a crucial role in the survival of democracy.
Senior Journalist Manohar Prasad said that Mangaluru is the place where print media was born in India in the name of Mangalore Samachar at 1843 by Basel Mission.
“Now the Mangaluru journalism is standing tall and the journalists of here have maintained their own identity,” he said.
District In-Charge Minister Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the photo exhibition which was clicked by the creative photographers of mangaluru.
President of DK Working Journalist Union Jaganaath Shetty Bala, General Secretary Srinivas Nayak and others were present.
