Puttur: Police have nabbed a gang who were trying to sell a two headed snake at Purusharakatte on July 4.
Speaking to the media Assistant Superintendent of Police, Rishvanth on July 5 said that during the possession M N Shashidhar of Madhuragi, N rattan GOwda from Kunigal, Gagan M B from madikeri and Saleem C K of atoor, Puttur was arrested.
“Ratan found the two headed snake while tilling and remaining three are workers of a garment factor,” he said.
He further said that it was saleem’s idea to convince the rest of people to sell it as it has very high rate in the market, but the team failed to find he buyers at Panja or surrounding areas. Moreover, they used to convince the people saying that the snake will bring good luck to the family if they buy it.
In an effort to sell the snake by hook or crook they reached Purusharakatte where they became guests of the police. Now, they have been remanded to judicial custody.
Team led by District Superintendent of Police, Bhushan G Borase, Additional Superintendent, Vedamurthy, Assistant Police Superintendent, Rishvanth took participation in the possession.
Town Station Inspector, Mahesh Prasad, and Sub-Inspector, Abdul Khader were present at the press meet.
