Kundapur: Kundapura town police and sub-divisional police carried out ‘Operation Suraksha’ and cracked the whip on busses which were using vacuum horns on Thursday.
The operation suraksha was begun on July 17. It will run for a month. To spread the awareness about the road safety this operation will be carried out.
Today’s operation was started at morning 7. A team led by SI Nasir Hussain and Lokesh conducted the operation. The busses which were very much known for creating noise pollution were syopped and checked for the vacuum horns. The police succeeded in their operation indeed and they seized and fined over 50 busses for installing vacuum horns. The operation went for more than two and half hour.
In Gangolli also same scenario was seen. Here the team was led by SI Subbanna.
Acting on the complaint received by the public regarding the noise pollution created by the busses in traffic, police took this action. Previously same type of operations was conducted in Mangaluru and Udupi for the vacuum horns. Public welcomed the move of police and appreciated for responding to the complaints.
