Mangaluru: KSRTC employees tried to stop busses plying from KSRTC bus stand Bejai on Sunday night and Barke police came in the middle and took the situation under control.
Late evening on Sunday, KSRTC drivers started to park their busses at the luggage section and then the busses were parked at the entrance of the bus stand. District Commissioner of KSRTC, Vinayak Hegde sought help of Barke police and police arrived on time with one KSRP platoon. After this development busses resumed their service as usual.
Vinayak Hegde informed that the busses which are scheduled for Sunday will go as per the schedule. There is no privilege for the employee’s to stop the busses anywhere. Nearly 600 people have booked their ticket and 30 busses will resume their duty till Monday morning.
Meanwhile, private players are operating additional buses to Bengaluru and other busy routes and are carrying passengers who are willing to travel.
KSRTC employees have called for the state-wide strike to urge the state government to fulfil their various demands including hike in wages.
