Kasargod: Literature is something beyond languages. As the society is becoming modernised, we are creating walls between ourselves, said Tamil writer Salma.
She was speaking at the convention of South Indian Writers Assemble at Yedaneeru Math, organised by people for Performing Arts and more of Kerala.
“Literature has been the prime reason behind most of the changes in the society. Now days writers are facing open threat from the anti-social bodies,” he said.
Malayalam writer Anwar Ali said that programmes like this should be organised more and more.
“Writers from all the languages should be united. Language should not be a barrier to spread the awareness,” he added.
Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishath President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura unveiled the souvenir of the programme.
Writer Mitravenkatesh, Yedaneeru Math Managing Trustee Jayarama manjatthaya, Raghavendra H M and others were present.
