Mangaluru: “I will never shield anyone, not even my son. If my son is guilty let the concerned authorities take the legal action on him,” said District In-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai on Tuesday.

He was answering to the questions of media persons over his son’s controversy of misbehaving with the locals at Kodagu after consuming alcohol.

“I will never pressurise anyone in this matter. My son never interfered in my political life. It’s hard to watch children all the time for any Parents. I don’t have any bad habits,” he said.

Ramanath Rai’s son Deepu Rai and his friends were had been to Irpu falls in Virajpete taluk on Sunday. While returning from their Deepu and his friends stopped their car near a local’s house. It is alleged that minister’s son and his friends were consuming alcohol and the music was kept loud in car. Local’s caught them to police and after knowing that Deepu is minister’s son the case was closed and he was sent out of the town with police escort.
