Mangaluru: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking CBI probe in DySP Ganapathi suicide case was rejected by the High Court on Tuesday.
B H Chandrashekhar and others had filed a PIL in High Court to hand over the DySP Ganapathi suicide case to the CBI. The division bench said that it would not like to exercise its discretionary powers in the matter.
In his argument state’s additional advocate general said that a FIR has been filed at Madiekri court on the request of DySP Ganapathi’s son. The Madikeri police have already started their investigation.
“The CID and judicial probe are also on process. At this stage it will become unnecessary to hand over the case to the CBI,” he said and his argument was upheld by the court.
