Mangaluru: Minister for Forest and District In-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai inaugurated Interpretation Center at Pilikula Biological Park and Mini Eiffel Tower at Lake Garden, Pilikula on Wednesday.
Speaking o the occasion Executive Director of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, Jayapraksh Bhandary said that the interpretation Center was built at the cost of Rs 28 lakh. It was constructed under the CSR funds of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
“Workshops related to biology and environment can be carried out in the interpretation Center. We were lacking of space to conduct workshops, this Center will be a very helpful one. I urge the Minister to provide fund to maintain the Center every year,” he said.
“From the amount collected by the donors a 50 feet mini Eiffel tower has also built. The donor’s name will be carved on the plaque soon. We had planned to construct one monument each year like India Gate, Qutub Minar etc. The India gate will be ready by next month. All these projects were undertaken to attract the visitors towards Pilikula,” he added.
He further said that a huge rain water harvesting model will be constructed at a land of 1 acre. It is to educate the people about the concept and about the importance of rain water harvesting.
Chief Whip of Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza, HPCL Chief Manager Rakesh Agarwal and others were present.
