Bengaluru: As per the early reports of Karnataka bundh many districts in north Karnataka have shut down completely. Especially Hubballi, Dharwad and Gadag districts have been closed completely.
In the southern part of Karnataka, no heat of bundh can be seen. Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, udupi and Raichur people haven’t declared their support for the bundh.
Protesters made an impact on the state capital, Bengaluru. The Bengaluru Metro suspended service after Kannada activists protested at Nayandahalli station, say reports. Another team of Kannada activists reportedly visited Vijayanagara station and requested officials to not run the service.
Protesters also gathered in front of Kempe Gowda International Airport and the Bengaluru Railway Station at Majestic. A Chennai bound train at 6.15 am was stalled for some time.
However, reports said the train traffic is not affected though many passengers are stranded at different stations.
BMTC and KSRTC officials had said on Friday that the bus services would not be affected. But on Saturday there was hardly any state transport bus on the road.
