Mangaluru: Dalit Rights Committee staged protest against the assaults on Dalits in the name of ‘Go Rakshana’, in front of DC Office on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering President of the committee Lingappa Nanthoor said that a Dalit child was burnt by pouring kerosene oil on it in Haryana. A Dalit woman was exiled from the village for entering into a temple in Hassan district.
“Many such cases have been reported in past few days. BJP and Sangha Parivar people are assaulting Dalit’s in the name of ‘Go Rakshak’. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is mum on this matter. He has sent his follower Amith Shah to condole the people of UP, but he failed in it,” he said.
He further said that the Central government is securing the peoples who attack on Dalit. The accused are protected by politicians.
“The Dalit Rights Committee urges the concerned authorities to take strict action against these atrocities and punish the accused of these atrocities. These sorts of incidents should not repeat in the future. As Dalit’s also have right to live,” he added.
