Mangaluru: Many labours associations staged protest demanding several demands at DC Office on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering CITU district General Secretary Vasanth Achary said that the central government is running behind imperialists. Labours are the scapegoats for the government.
“In the name of ‘Make in India’ Modi is attracting many foreign based educational companies towards India. Unemployment is increasing day by day. The government is imposing tax on PF funds of the labours. Labours are the victims of government’s imperialism,” he said.
He further said that the labour unions have 17 demands including hike of basic pay to Rs 18000 and creating new vacancies.
“We want a stable price for all the needy things, so that the hike in prices should not bother the poor. The minimum retirement pay should be increased to Rs 3000 per month,” he added.
CITU leaders Balakrishna, Sunil Kumar Bajal and others were present.
