Thiruvananthapuram: Three foreigners were seen often reaching up and tempering the smoke alarm in the ATMs of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The scenes were recorded in the CCTV footage.
In CCTV it is recorded that the foreigners doesn’t use the machine to withdraw money.
It is reported that as many as 50 people have reported that their money has been withdrawn from their account. This development is linked with the doubtful behaviour of the three foreigners.
Police have nabbed one Romanian who was also one among three at Mumbai, on Tuesday night. The Romanian has been identified as Gabriel Marian. Other two are missing at the time and Kerala wants Interpol to help in the case. Two others are identified as Bogdean Florian and Christan Victor of Romania.
The gang was active for past two weeks and they used to stay in a popular beach resort Kovalam.
According to the police the foreigners used some technology to scan the account details of ATM users. And using fake cards with the valid details they used to withdraw money from Mumbai ATMs. The gang might have stolen amount Rs 4.5 lakh.
Police are checking if anybody else is also involved in it or not. Police have urged the ATM users to change their PIN number as a safety measure.
