Mangaluru: Bhajaranga Dal district President Sharan Pumpwell said that the cases of cow slaughtering and illegal trafficking have been increased drastically in Karnataka. According to the criminal procedure code, 43 CrPC public has all the right to stop the illegal transporting of the cattle.
Sharan in his letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said“Cow protection groups have full right to stop the illegal trafficking of cattle as the Indian law. We want you (Modi) to take some action against cow slaughter and implement the CrPC 43 in advisory circular.
As the present circular issued on August 9 has created a huge confusion among the cow protectors. They feel that more cruelty will be seen on cows and illegal trafficking will be continues. More police force is needed to avoid these sort of incidents.”
“In Karnataka there is lack of police personnel, so the Central government should take the responsibility of protecting the cows.
The government should send the army to protect ‘Gomatha’ here in Karnataka. Strict action should be taken and the action should be meaningful. Not a single cow should get killed here in Karnataka. It is the matter of Hindus sentiment,” he said.
Further he asked clarification from PM asking that according to the article 51A(G) every citizen of India has the right to protect an animal from being tortured or killed. If someone is killing or torturing the animal, isn’t it against the law?
