Mangaluru/Udupi: As a precautionary measure for upcoming Independence Day celebration, security has been increased in Daskhina Kannada and Udupi district, informed Superintendant of Police Bhushan Rao Gulabrao Borase.

“Keeping Mysuru court bomb blast in mind, the security level in the district has been increased. Some anti social bodies may try to disturb the peace in the district.

We need to stop it. If the public found any suspected person or suspected thing then they should inform the nearest police station. The security will be tightened in all the major areas,” he said.

“Publics are requested not to use plastic flags. If someone asks rented room then without proper authentication, rooms should not be allotted. The photograph and mobile number of such persons should be collected during the allotment,” he added.

He further said that public are free to give any sort of information regarding the security. The identification of the informer will be kept confidential.
