Bengaluru: The government has decided to handover the development responsibilities of Karnataka’s well known Jog falls to B R S Ventures owned by Mangaluru based business man B R Shetty.
In the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday it was decided to create Jog as all season falls by giving the responsibilities to the private party.
After the meeting speaking to the reporters Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs T B Jayachandra, said that no land will be given to the company and no financial aid also. Only the management will be handedover to the company. All the works will be carried out under the direction of Jog Falls Authority.
“B R Shetty had approached the government seeking the permission to develop Jog falls. He is ready to spend Rs 450 crore for that. After holding a long talk the government has decided to handover the responsibilities,” he said.
He further said that some conditions have been imposed on the company and the company have to get all the legal permissions from forest department before carrying out any work.
