Mangaluru: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged protest against the unscientific work of Padil – Bajal railway underpass at Mangaluru City Corporation on Monday.

Addressing the protestors district Secretary of DYFI, Santhosh Bajal said that railway underpass road connects many places and due to the unscientific work, the vehicle movement has almost stopped.

“People are facing severe problems during the rainy season. Rain water rushes in huge quantity and makes vehicle movement miserable. Concerned authorities are doing some work to please the people, when people raised their voice against the work. No action has been taken even after contacting concerned authorities regarding the issue,” he said.

He further said that underpass was the dream of surrounding area people. After staging several protests and submitting many memorandums people have finally got it. But the construction work has made them to regret on their deed.

“DYFI demands strict action against those who are involved in the construction of the railway underpass and to fix the problem before it gets worst,” he added.
