Mudabidiri: Alva’s secured first prize in the invited men’s state level ball badminton tournament held at Alva’s college on Monday.

Alva’s reached to the finals after defeating Banshankari team, Bengaluru in the semi-final. Alva’s faced the challenge of Canara Bank team in the finals, who had beaten Chamarajanagara in the semi-final. Totally six teams had taken participation in the tourney.

In the championship round, Alva’s beat Canara Bank team by 35-30 in the first half and 35-22 in the second. With this defeat Canara Bank was awarded runners up trophy.

Man of the match award was awarded to Ranjith of Alva’s.

The awards were presented by Ekalavya awardee Muhammad Iliyan and Umesh Shetty.
