Udupi: District BJP leaders and party workers met the victim of cow vigilance slain Praveen Poojary’s family and handed over Rs 5 lakh to the family, at Kenjur on Thursday.
Speaking to the family members former MLA Raghupathi Bhat said that party has lost its most active member and everyone will strive to get justice to his death. All the HJV members, who were involved in the murder, should be punished.
“Cow vigilantes are misusing the power of BJP. Such incidents haven’t happened yet in this area. This case should be investigated from all possible angles, as there are chances of any personal grudge or enmity. However, we feel sad about the matter and it should not repeat again.” He said.
Uday Kumar Shetty said that, BJP will stand with Praveen’s family until they get justice. Getting justice is important than politicizing the issue.
