Malpe: “We should remember the soldiers who fight at the border to save 128 crore people are India. Malpe Samarpana Youth should become the ideals for others,” said Minister for Fisheries and Sports Pramodh Madhwaraj.
He was addressing the gathering at felicitation ceremony of retired soldiers organised by Malpe youth.
“Not all the soldiers come back to home safely. Many soldiers sacrifice their life for us. Many become handicapped and other suffer from other losses. Fighting in war is not only a duty of soldiers, they will guard us from riots like Kashmir. The government may felicitate them by giving awards, but we should remember them each and every day,” he said.
Retired soldier M K Kumar, social worker Ravi Katapady, Spandana school for specially able and the family of police personnel Ravichandra were provided Rs 25000 by the youths. The amount was collected by wearing fancy dress of tiger.
G Shankar Family Trust’s Dr G Shankar, Fish Maket federation President Yashpal Suvarna, Lawyer Suprasad Shetty, SI Ravi Kumar, Businessman’s Anand C Kundar, Sadhu Salian, Hariappa and others were present.
