Mangaluru: Due to heart attack a huj pilgrim from Dakshina Kannada died in King Abdulaziz Hospital in Saudi Arabia, on Friday.

Aboobakar (73) is the deceased person. He was basically from Aranthodu village in Sullia. At present he was living in Kumbla, Kasargod with his family.

As per the family sources, he had undergone dialysis during Ramadan month and his family members had requested him not to go to Mecca as a huj pilgrim. Even after repeated requests, he didn’t listen to his family members and dais that he wants to die during the visit to Mecca or after that.

On August 4, Aboobakar had reached Saudi Arabia along with his wife through the first flight of haj pilgrims from Mangaluru. After eight days of arrival at Saudi, he fell sick and on Friday he breathed his last.

His son who works in Madinah and Huj volunteers of Karnataka Cultural Forum have visited Aboobakar in the hospital.
