Mangaluru: The Vimala V Pai Vishwa Konakani Poetry Award has been bagged by commended Konkani poet Melvyn Rodrigues, for his poetry collections called ‘Devi Ninkasi’.

Konkani poetry life time achievement award, Konkani Jeevan Siddi Award has been won by Konkani researcher, translator and author Arvind Bhatikar Goa.

Another Goan Konkani novelist Sudha Kharangate has been chosen for Vimala V Pai best Konkani book award 2016, for the book ‘Kapyallem’.

The Konkani awards were instituted by T V Mohandas Pai and the awards are being presented by World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru. Es 1 lakh cash proze, certificate, memento, shawl and fruits will be presented during the award presentation ceremony.
