Mangaluru: “Demanding immediate solution for the sand mining problems, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) Dakshina Kannada unit will stage protest rally in front of DC office on September 27,” said KRV DK unit President Anil Das.
Speaking to the reporters on Saturday, he said that people of Dakshina Kannada are facing serious problems regarding the sand. They are not getting sand for the construction of house and other buildings.
“Sand from DK is being transported to other districts. District administration is troubling daily wage workers and construction workers in the name of sand mining ban. District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai should take action to solve the problem,” he said.
Puroshottham Kottary, Association of Consultant Civil Engineers President Vinayak Pai, former president Vijay Mallya, KRV District Vice-President Madhusudhan Gowda and others were present.
