Honnavar: In a tragic incident, 16 passengers onboard a VRL bus enroute to Mangaluru from Mumbai sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in overturned at Gunavanthe near here today.

As per information the bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it met with the accident. There were 30 passengers onboard the bus and the ones seated on the left side of the bus are said to have sustained injuries as the bus overturned.

Of the 16 injured, four passengers are said to be serious. All the injured persons have been admitted to a hospital in Honnavar.

The Manki police personnel visited the accident spot and a case has been registered.
