Mangaluru: Mangaluru police have arrested a gang which had planned to rob a bank manager, using a young woman, on Wednesday.
Thrupthi Kulal, Avinash Konaje, Sachin Padavinangady, Rajesh Shetty, Yatish Poojary, Shreejith and Nitin are the arrested persons.
The gang had planned to rob a bank manager who is a resident of Ballalbhag. The lady was said to be the key person in the gang. Police have produced the accused in the court and court has ordered for the judicial custody for fifteen days.
One more prime member of the gang is admitted in hospital due to leg injury. Police are yet to take her to the custody.
Shilpa was little closer to the bank manager and she introduced Trhupthi to him and requested to give training for bank exams. When managers wife was not there in the home, Thrupthi called other gang members and they clicked many photos of manager and Thrupthi in different positions. Then blackmailed him and demanded for money.
Bank manager had given a signed blank check, gold ornaments, a bike and Rs 9000 to the gang.Later, he had explained it to a known police officer.
Acting on his complaint police have arrested six members of the gang and further investigating the case.
