Mangaluru: As the new Municipal Commissioner of Ullal Municipality Vani Alva has taken charge, on Monday. Previously she was handling the post of Mulky Municipality.

Ullal Municipality’s outgoing commissioner Rekha Shetty has been demoted and transferred as community organiser of Sullia town panchayat. She had taken charge just ten days ago, but in a short span of time she received transfer order.

After Rekha received the transfer order, Municipal President Hussain Kunhimonu along with other councillors met deputy commissioner and urged him to cancel the transfer. It is said that some municipal councillors have played behind the scenes to transfer Rekha from Ullal, a she was known as an efficient officer.
