Udupi: District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj laid foundation for the proposed bridge across the Swarna river to be built at the cost of Rs 10 crore, on Wednesday at Ammunje Parampalli Parari.
Addressing the gathering Pramod Madhwaraj said that he is fulfilling the promises given during the election one by one. All the promises will be fulfilled in the coming days.
“During my tenure as MLA, I have started the construction work of Neelavara Koradi bridge at the cost of Rs 9 crore, Padukere bridge construction work is going on and other proposed works will be commenced and completed soon,” he said.
He further said that to link the present bridge a 182 meter long and 5.5 meter wide road will be constructed. Land has been identified for the construction of GTTC college and the proposed amount Rs 43 crore has been approved. The government wants support from the local people during the land acquisition; high amount of compensation will be paid to the land owners.
Oscar fernandes, Rajya Sabha member advised to complete the construction work as soon as possible, so that it will be helpful for the farmers and students.
CMC President Meenakshi Madhav, ZP member Janardhan Tonse, TP President Nalini Pradeep Rao and others were present.
