Mangaluru: “To reach the all categories of the society Bharatiya Janata Party has formed Slum Morcha,” said Dakshina Kannada BJP President Sanjeev Matandoor.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new district Slum Morcha committee, on Thursday.

“As per now there are seven forums which are functioning. Slum Morcha will be the last one. Slum Morcha should strive towards cleaning the society and to educate the people about the principles of the party,” he said.

He further said that Slum Morcha should work parallel to the PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Swach Bharat’ campaign. There are 18 slum areas in the district. The morcha office bearers should work for the betterment of those areas.

Slum Morcha State Secretary Shrinivas said that even the development of slum area also will be considered when we take a nation in account. If slum areas are developed then it is equal to a nation’s development.

Former legislative council vice-speaker Yogish Bhat, Slum Morcha district President Rama Amin, corporator Naveenchandra, leaders Sudarshan Moodabidiri and ithers were present.
