Mangaluru: “The government has no faith in communalism. We are firm to provide social justice,” said CM Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking after laying foundation stone for the proposed Veterinary College to be built at Koila, Puttur.
“Social justice cannot be provided through speeches. We should reach them through programmes. Communalism will not be entertained in the state. We have agreed to built a secular country through our constitution. We should create society with communal harmony,” he said.
He further said that as per the demand the government has appointed 650 veterinary doctors and still 692 doctors and 1300 assistant directors posts are pending to be filled. Vacant posts in all the departments including horticulture will be filled as soon as possible.
“Rs 142 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the veterinary college at Koil. At the first phase Rs 110.5 crore worth work will be done. Vetrinary colleges at Gadag and Athani also will be constructed. We should save and develop the horticulture sector,” he added.
Kadaba as taluk
“There is a proposal of declaring 43 new taluks in the state. The government will give preference for the most demanded Kadaba taluk formation. A new degree college for Kadaba also will be sanctioned,” he stated.
Ministers Ramanatha Rai, U T Khader, B Manju, MLA S Angara, Shakunthala Shetty Abhaychandra Jain, Mohiudhin Bava, ZP President Meenakshi Shatigodu and others were present.
