Mangaluru: “Nandigudda crematorium will be developed at a cost of Rs 74 lakh and the money has been reserved for that only. Cleanliness of the crematorium area and other basic facilities will be included in the project,” said Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo.
He was speaking after visiting the Nandigudda crematorium along with Mnagaluru City Corporation officials on Tuesday.
Further he directed the MCC officials to maintain the cleanliness of the crematorium and to maintain the beauty of it by trimming the garden grass once in a month.
“Drinking water facility will be provided and a overhead water tank will be constructed for that purpose. Parking facility, street lights and high mast lights also will be installed,” he said.
MCC Commissioner Muhammad Nazir, former mayor Jacintha Alfred, Lancelot Pinto, Divakar and others were present.
