Mangaluru: A Mangaluru based businessman bought a fancy registration number to his car at the cost of Rs 2.77 lakh.

He was very much interested in buying a registration number KA-661. The auction of the fancy numbers was held at Tarikere by the RTO officials.

“If the auction would have held in Bengaluru then many people would have participated. Now only three people have taken part in the auction,” said RTO Joint Commissioner Maruti Sambrani.

He further said that usually 15 people will attend the auction. This time one more person bought the registration number KA-66-5555 for Rs 76000.
