Mangaluru: “A short tender will be called in the general meeting of MCC for the repair of MRPL road,” said Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Harinath.
Addressing the media personnel at his office in MCC on Wednesday, he said that the construction work of the road will be carried out at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore, in which MCC’s share will be 30 percent and remaining amount will be provided by MRPL and other organisations.
“Further the road will be concretised at a cost of Rs 45 crore. There is a plan to collect toll from the heavy vehicles of the companies after the concretisation. The decision will be taken after holding the discussions with the concerned authorities,” he said.
Further commenting on Tumbe vented dam project he said that Rs 250 crore is needed to pay the compensation to the farmers of Tumbe region if the height of the dam increased to 7 meters. 41 acres of the land will be submerged due to the dam if the water level will be 5 meters, then Rs 50 crore will be needed to pay the compensation.
