Kasargod: Hosadurga police have arrested a Uttar Pradesh based youth for harassing a student in train on Wednesday night.

Muhammad Khayyum (24) is the arrested person.

The incident took place in the Kannur to Mangaluru ‘Parashuram’ train. A college student boarded the train at Talasheri, she was a resident of Kanhangad. When the train was about to reach Kanhangad, the arrested started to abuse her.

She screamed loudly and after hearing her scream many people gathered at the spot and caught the accused. Later he was handed over to the police.

The arrested person has been subjected for the medical tests at district hospital.
